Our Task Is Exclusively Killing' - How Sudan's Vicious Fighting Force Carried out a Massacre

Warning: This Account Presents Graphic Accounts of Executions.

Militiamen smirk as they ride on the bed of a transport truck, racing past a row of multiple lifeless forms and moving towards the sinking Sudan's evening sky.

"See such work. Look at this ethnic cleansing," a combatant shouts.

He smiles as he points the video equipment on his person and his associate militiamen, their paramilitary badges clearly shown: "These people are all going to die in this manner."

These individuals are rejoicing over a atrocity that humanitarian officials suspect claimed the lives of more than thousands of civilians in the Sudanese metropolis of el-Fasher last month.

An Urban Center Isolated from the Outside

Following their control of the urban area under blockade for nearly two years, from the summer the paramilitary force advanced to consolidate its control and restrict the leftover residents.

Orbital photography show that troops started to build a massive earth barrier - a built-up sand barrier - surrounding the boundaries of al-Fashir, blocking access routes and blocking aid.

During the encirclement intensified, multiple people were killed in an paramilitary assault on a mosque on mid-September, while the United Nations said fifty-three additional were killed in aerial and cannon attacks on a refugee settlement in fall.

Disturbing Video Reveals Defenseless Individuals Shot

At dawn on October 26th the RSF defeated the last government positions and took control of the primary base in the community, the main facility of the 6th Infantry Division, as the military withdrew.

One of the most disturbing videos to appear and examined depicted the results of a mass killing at a educational facility on the western of the urban area, where numerous dead bodies were observed scattered throughout the area.

A senior person clad in a traditional garment was seated alone amongst the bodies. The individual looked to gaze as a fighter armed with a weapon moved along the staircase facing him. Raising his rifle, the gunman discharged a one bullet at the man, who fell to the floor still.

"For what reason is this one still living," another fighter exclaimed. "Execute this one."

Satellite images recorded on late October appeared to substantiate that executions were also carried out on the streets of al-Fashir, as reported by a study issued by the academic research center.

An witness who communicated reported he had seen "multiple of our relatives being massacred - these individuals were assembled in a specific area and everyone eliminated."

Militia Leaders Seek to Carry Out Damage Control

Following the events that ensued from the atrocity, militia chief acknowledged that his troops had committed "atrocities" and announced the occurrences would be looked into.

Part of the arrested was following a investigation documenting his killings. Carefully choreographed and produced footage published on the paramilitary's formal messaging platform show him being taken into a prison room at a prison on the outskirts of al-Fashir.

Meanwhile, the paramilitary force and affiliated social media profiles began seeking to reframe the account.

Posts presenting its combatants providing aid to residents were shared by several users, while the force's public relations unit published multiple videos purporting to display the humane treatment of military detainees.

Regardless of the digital initiative being deployed by the paramilitary, their activities in el-Fasher have sparked global anger.
