Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are calling for that a individual who leaped a barricade and touched the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.

A viral video depicts the Australian man pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a promenade accompanied by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being detained", though official papers indicated that he was set to be present on the next day. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.

History of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile includes videos of him interrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user remarked.

Followers Express Concern Over the Star's Safety

Many fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said another comment on Instagram.

A number of attendees also questioned security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals called for digital services to block Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Event Details

In footage shared widely, Grande appeared surprised when she was grabbed by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Numerous of attendees had gathered in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore venue, including a number who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it started.

The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the popular stage show Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two distinct sorceresses.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and received 10 award recognitions, securing a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
