Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Send Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The song was recorded in the wake of a major charity concert held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of artists contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the scene. All took part in the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of talented individuals. The single features a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the region was noted for its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a couple of million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all making this cause better known and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
